Urology

Ultrasound has widely adopted for urologic imaging; this includes images of the kidneys, bladder, testes/scrotum and prostate. It's used for checking birth defects of the urinary tract, problems with urination, and to help treat urinary tract infections. In some cases, the sonographer will use a type of ultrasound called Doppler ultrasound, which can be used to assess the blood flow to your urological organs. This can be helpful when looking at the testes and/or kidneys.
